Jeremiah Bornfield

Jeremiah began his musical training in utero under the headphones of his father's Mozart obsession.

Between seven and 14 years of age, Jeremiah privately studied violin, taking his school orchestra to 2 state finals as 1st chair concertmaster, while simultaneously taking 9 weeks off of school for 2 years, touring internationally with the Tucson Arizona Boy's Chorus. Jeremiah also had a love for top 40 charts, memorizing most of the hits, as everyone does to impress their friends.

At the height of hip-hop Jeremiah was relocated to the urban N.E. section of Washington D.C., where he began dedicating himself to 90's rap and R&B. After 5 years, 2 gangster rap groups and several near run ins with the law, Jeremiah found Beethoven, taught himself to play classical piano and was luckily invited to stay at Bill Hargrove's piano mansion in Rockland County while learning composition and meeting streams of Juilliard and Manhattan School pianists and pedagogues.

After being asked to compose works for film, by friends Jeremiah felt that his true calling was in film scoring. He luckily met a powerful agent who advised him to get a training in orchestration. Jeremiah went to study orchestration with Juilliard's prinicipal orchestration teacher, Shafer Mahoney, at Hunter College. Less than 1 year ago Jeremiah received his master's degree in composition.

After performing, organizing and composing for some of NYC's top art venues, Jeremiah is ready to begin a new chapter, combining many skills and experiences with a transformed and revived goal for commercial success.
